Lesley,
It shows that you really thought about this painting--not just how you were going to compose it, but the idea behind it. The whole thing is beautifully handled.

Thank you Alexandra, I really appreciate that  I learned a great deal painting this and it challenged me in every way. That excites me and gives me hope knowing the next painting I paint will be an improvement on the last.

Like the composition...particularly the angle of the instrument moving the eye from the lower left to the upper right. Nice drawing also..not an easy one to pull off. Congragulations!

Thank you Mike, the painting's a wedding anniversary from the Cellist to her very eccentric parents. You're right, it wasn't easy at all pulling this off and if I had to do it again... I wouldn't place her on the rocks, I would have her sit on a chair where the water laps the shore.
