Chris Saper article "On the threshold" in Artist's Magazine

Nice article Chris!

My January/February issue of Artist's Magazine arrived today, and I was pleasantly surprised to find a wonderful article by Chris Saper about painting the youthful portrait (from photo or from life) beginning on page 70. I especially like how Chris walks the reader through the making of color notes, and her discussion of how to modify the portrait as it progresses to the finish. Chris even has an example of portraits, of the same model painted four years apart, to illustrate changes in painting maturing features.

Well done. I will be referring to it as I work on future portraits.
