Mostly Monochrome is a series of seven demonstrations, step-by-step portrait drawings and paintings utilizing a variety of monochrome media.
The concept for this book came about as I was developing the course, "Especially for Beginners: Exploring the Portrait in Monochrome".
Limiting the focus to drawing and values, the course is ideal for beginning portrait artists, for whom the jump into color can sometimes be frustrating, particularly when combined with drawing, modeling and compositional challenges.
