Ink portrait
This will be my first posted image to SOG. It's an ink drawing on Claybord, @ 5x8". Her blouse was especially a challenge, mostly in patience.

Thank you for the comments, Enzie.
Value control in ink, as you may know, is not a simple matter, unless you're using washes, which I resorted to in some limited fashion here. Black lines are pretty much all on or off - it's easy to go darker, but lighter is a challenge. You mentioned Dor

David,
Thanks for pointing these artists out, I was not familiar with their work.
I love illustrations regardless if they are in black and white or color. I really think illustrators don't get the type of recognition that is awarded to fine art artists. What a shame, there are so many highly talented people out there that have that special gift of a wonderful imagination.

I can't imagine doing a portrait in ink. That blouse blows me away! Great work.

This has great visual impact, David. I love the way you have managed the line variations, with the patterns reinforcing the paleness of her face. You did a nice job being both subtle and graphic.
Your work made me go and reexamine Rockwell Kent, thanks for posting here!
