My Greek Boyfriend

I lured him in with cable golf, but ended up listening to some crummy murder mystery on tv and through a bag of pistachio nuts, he oddly stayed very still and only looked up when requested.

I snapped a very bad reference when he left last night and took another 20 minutes today to snap in the accents and highlights.

I was pretty happy. My livingroom has a skylight from my point of view and a large, but shady, south facing picture window. I think I suggested the warm in the room and the cool out the window better than I thought it would turn out.

I have been very stylistically cramped working from photos so after a few jaunts into open studio, I decided to make use of my personal couch potato.

Debra,
I like! I like!
Seems working from life suits you well! I would have to find a boyfriend who sleeps with his eyes open to be able to do this.
You've done a lovely job.

Wow, Debra, I really like this one. It has that spontaneous feeling, and I agree that the warm and cool skintones are very successful. His expression is so appealing, especially around the mouth, but the eyes add to it.

Debra,

I think this is great. I love the beautiful sunset colors you used. It is amazing how much of a color range you utilized. I am also struck by the way your strokes bring out the planes of the face so well. Very nice!

I just spotted this, Debra! I love it, I also really like the fluid, calligraphic brush style that I see in a lot of your recent work.
