I don't know what I am doing posting this! But while the nun wash-in is drying I decided to work a little on the portrait I started in Marvin's workshop. I haven't done much, feeling very tentative, to say the least. And I don't quite know where to go from here. I feel adrift at sea. no lifeboat . . . faaar from shore . . .

Wow, the color looks grayer here on the screen, than in person. I am holding back a bit with chroma until I feel she is more developed, if that makes any sense... this is the image of the first wash-in. I do have a reference photo which Marvin gave me to take home, but don't have it here to scan for you to see.

Hey Pat, this is coming out fantastic. Just goes to show what a good teacher and effort can do. Much better than the c**p I was doing at my weekly class. I'd like to see where you go from here. Hang in there!

Patricia, what jumps out at me is the (our) left eye. I think it's that I see more white on far edge (the edge curving away from us) than on your lay-in. Plus the lower lid shape is angled up straighter than the lay-in. Obviously I'm only comparing it to the lay-in, so what I just said may mean absolutely nothing when you look at the reference photo. It's looking good, I'd like to see the rest as you go.
