Hi!

My name is Carlos Aleman. I live in South Florida with my wife, Jean and work for a technology company as a web developer.

I've been enjoying this forum for a while. I'm a big fan of Mattelson and others. After 20 years of painting, I've come to the conclusion that I have no sense of color (could explain all the rejection I've experienced). -ha ha:-)

I'm enjoying pencil drawing greatly and look forward to learning much in this forum. Thanks guys for everything you've taught me so far!

(below is a picture of me and a self portrait pencil drawing)

love,
Carlos

Another Pencil Artist!

Welcome to the forum! Your self portrait is very good. I am sure I will never post a self portrait of myself, it is always so hideous!! But yours is very appealing. We pencil artists are few here, but the encouragement and instruction we get from painters is unsurpassed.

By the way, if I wanted to post some of my recent drawings -which would be the proper forum?

Carlos

Carlos
I would say either the critiques or unveiling sections depending on what type of feedback you would like. I am looking forward to seeing more of your work!

Thanks Mary,

BTW your website is almost as beautiful as your artwork -and that's coming from an artist who designs graphic user interfaces for a living

Thanks Carlos, but I can't take credit for the site. Fellow forum member Jennifer Geary did that. Now if I can just get some of that old stuff off of there and replace with new, I will be much happier. Unfortunately, (for me that is) she is on maternity leave with her new twins and I am not familiar enough with Dreamweaver to do it myself.

Mary,

I know what you mean about wanting to remove old work. There are things I don't want anyone to see after a while.

Dreamweaver is a good HTML editing tool -not hard to use, although you'll need to know HTML if you want to do any serious work. But if all you want to do is delete and replace to an existing template you can use it almost like Word. If you want, I can guide you through the process.

just email me: [email protected]
