I painted this portrait of my friend's daughter with my Wednesday painting group. This was painted during two sessions lasting two hours each. I am very lucky to belong to two painting groups and find the life painting experience valuable when it comes to painting commissions.

Allie is painted on a 20" x 16" canvas board with oil. My friend never likes the portraits I do of her daughters from life because they are not smiling.

Lovely use of colour, I like the composition and the strength of her character comes through
