(please move this to another area if you did not want responses posted on your "how too" thread)

Cynthia, I felt compelled to respond to your request for professionalism here. I agree 100% with what you have requested, but do it with a tad bit of confusion.

When first discovering this site, as you might remember, I thought I was required to join (be accepted in to your clientele list) into these Forums, obviously I have discovered differently. Needless to say the "Jury" decided my work was "not there yet" and my membership declined. But does that deem me NOT a professional whose critiques should not be posted? I have noticed a number of artists here who, like Kevin, are very talented and are really wanting to make a go of this profession. As for myself, I have done well with my work and am proud of the pieces I have produced, some more than others. But as I strive to be a Chris, Karin or Peggy, it is input that helps the most.

I have noticed there are a number of people in my situation, mainly middle age without the benefit of Studio 101 classes to attend weekly. And this site has been a blessing for that. But when I read your above request I questioned the validity of what I would have to say to others because of my ranking within this site.

If all who are not "represented artists" here are to be considered "non pro's" or of amateur status, prehaps you could start a thread for that, so those who are learning will feel comfortable in their posting without detering the seasoned masters from attendance. Let's face it, we all started somewhere, and there is nothing more subjective than art and nothing more heartbreaking than thinking, based on the input of some that something you love shouldn't be your cup of tea.

I personally think you have created a wonderful community here, and know when someone like Chris Saper takes the time to really help me through a piece she is investing major valuable minutes, hours - but if your expectations are not being met, or us new guys are to taxing to your pro's, is there another resource for us.

Submitted with the kindest heart and best intentions!

Please note, I know you have included a subject area for 'unveiling of new art", but I think it is so sadly attended... I would think new works would pop up daily.
