Hi Piety--
I am seeing this for the first time today (I always forget to log in to the critiques area!) Gotta say, I rather like those fish! (except maybe the one that comes over her face. . . ) Combined with the expression on the faces, they give the painting a sort of surreal, otherworldliness, as if the people are behind a veil or in some other state of consciousness. It creates an intriguing mood to the piece.

I think this is BRILLIANT!
If you posted it in any other art forum besides portraiture I would bet others would agree.
It is just breathtaking, you have quite a future!
