Molly, this is fantastic news and I am thrilled for you!
And what a painting - I keep coming back to look at that fresh brushwork. What color! That girl just sings to us, I love it.

Congratulations, Molly! There's a really appealing expression in her eyes. I find myself staring into them trying to figure out exactly what she's telling me.

Congratulations with the award, Molly.
This is a fine portrait and I especially like how the brush strokes and colors are echoed in the background.

Molly,
Congratulations!! It's a beautiful portrait. I only wish we could see in person this, and all the paintings recieving the Excellent/Exceptional awards, along with the finalists. Very deserving.

Wish I could be in Dallas
Thank you everyone for being so nice, and congratulations to Linda Brandon and Garth Herrick for winning awards in this years competition also. It is so nice to have a group of artists that can all support each other and lift each other up.
I wish I could be in Dallas with you all. Unfortunately, (although the business is great) I don't have enough saved up to make the trip. Ha ha, and my unstable little car has broken down twice this week. I guess being a young struggling artist isn't as exotic as many may think. Or, I guess being poverty-stricken is why it is so exotic and strangely sought after. . . You just wait, one of these days I stop eating oatmeal and rolled wheat bought in bulk (50 lb bags.) Just kidding. I will eat that stuff always because it is so healthy. (You know, people don

It's hard to picture you with a feedbag strapped to your face. Maybe you meant something else.
Financial security is an interesting thing. Most of the daily communters who hate their jobs have financial security. Often people who love their work don't have it. It's a trade off. Apparently your skills will bring a reward, and soon.
Your portrait is lovely. I feel like I can see the girl's personality come through. Congratulations.
