MDF questions

Hi Sharon,

I found this old thread of yours. I am interested in the possiblity of painting on MDF panel that are sealed with RSG, but are not gessoed. In posting this question I was surprised at the number of responses I got advising against using MDF at all.

I would appreciate any info you have on its archival qualities, and the need -- or not -- for gesso layers.

Thanks,
Richard

Sharon, thank you for taking the time to answer this, especially on your vacation. It is a totally adequate answer, and happens to be the exact procedure I've been following.

Richard
