Renee, this is really a lovely painting! The modelling of her face is just exquisite - it's perfect. I would so love to see this painting in person. You certainly are deserving of the award you got - I think you could easily win in any category with this exceptional painting. Congratulations!!

Renee, I love the tilt of her head. She looks as though she is giving something a moment's consideration. You have captured something intangible and charming in this portrait. Congratulations for winning the Emerging Artists Prize! I can see why it caught the attention of the judges.

Just lovely Renee. Other than the beautiful handing of the face I love the surprising and refreshing use of the leopard collar.

Thanks Chris, you're right I do need to participate here more often.
Joy and Sharon thank you for the input! I am staying busy with portraits and I'm working through the Bargue book, too.
thanks again!

Thank you very much David! I wish you could see it in person, too. It's hard to see the transparency of the skin in a photo--lots of thin layers. I hate that the details in the dress are lost. Overall though, the picture is pretty accurate.
Alexandra, thank you, too! This little charmer is very photogenic, so it was really hard choosing a few pictures out of 5 rolls of film. This pose was my favorite because I caught her off guard as she glanced out the window.
Thanks again to both of you. Your comments mean a lot to me!
