Thanks for your input. You know, when I read your post I couldn't believe what I was reading. I try to pay particular attention to the values but when I looked at your posted imae (my posted image) you were right. I double checked my painting and was relieved to see that the values of the neck and the upper portion of the nose were darker than in my lousy photograph.

I wish I had a better photo for you. I feel as if I have given you an unfair proposition, asking for a critique on an unfaithful image.

I may have tweeked the photo too much and increased the contrast or lightened it too much. I'll double check that and if I ca I will post a better and more accurate photo.

I should be the one saying sorry, because i had not been more sensitive about my critique. Above all, i've learnt something new from seeing your work of art, so that's invaluable to me. Thanks for that!
