I lived on Lummi Island off the coast of Bellingham many years ago, and I love that part of the country. Your painting is very fresh and appealing. Is the medium watercolor? While many of the artists who frequent this forum subscribe to a more realistic approach, impressionism is certainly well-represented here and is definitely acceptable.
