bewildered Self promotion

I really feel as if I have hit a wall with my self promotion and becasue of that my commissions have dwindled. Since I recently returned to Atlanta after living in Philadelphia for 8 years, I have had to start all over in marketing myself and finding new clients. Being that I have returned to the heartland of portraiture, I really thought my self promotion would be much easier than when I was in the northeast. Unfortunately, that is not true.

I have done numerous things to get my work seen; donations to auctions benifiting local private schools, created a 4x6 photo business card, displaying them in prominent children related stores, and I tell EVERYONE I meet what I do. With these efforts I have had minimal responses.
I am beginning to get very frustrated and distressed with this process or rather, lack there of.

Does anyone have any new suggestions to help boost ones exposure to the right people and land commissions? I would greatly appreciate any positive feedback. Thanks!

Lisa
