Hi Mary,

What a sweet looking little girl. Even though I do not prefer the colors you have chosen, I really like how you made them work for you. I also like the overall look of the hair.

Some things I have noticed, which you might take another look at:

- Very dark spot under her ear (our right). This area seems disassociated with the rest of the painting. Even though it is supposed to be darker in value, I suggest a transition into a lighter value.

-Neck area especially to our left. Although there is foreshortening due to the head tilt, that area that touches the chain, seems to be elevated and too light. Re-examine the reference photo.

-Left shoulder could use some more work. The shadow extends too far up, thereby tilting her shoulder too far forward. I would look at the reference again and see how the values subtly change as the form turns.

The crop is interesting ande works for me, although many would say it is not very traditional.
