Lon,

I've got a few questions and comments for you, but I think this thread is about done for. This drawing is history at this point anyway. A last observation, though, is that drawings done in the Line First method are easier to self-critique than other styles: it's usually pretty obvious when you go astray. I'll switch over to the "Books and Videos" section to discuss the method in general.

Steven,

I don't think you'll be disappointed. As Lon says, it's very fundamental. The practical parts start where you'd want to teach a young person or a total rookie to draw. For me that works. But as I said at the beginning of the thread, there's a lot of material about art and life in general that's just a good read!

John,

Been gone a while, and I just wanted to say how I appreciated your kind words regarding my book. I look forward to getting back into working here at the SOG Forum.

John, and Lon,

It's obvious to me from the first glance at the drawing John made of Lon's book illustration that he "got it". If I had seen that image without the attending description in the post I would have thought it was a Lon Haverly drawing for sure.

John, you seem to have mastered the concepts quite quickly, and Lon, you seem to have been able to communicate them very clearly as well. I'll go take a look at this book in the Books and Videos section.
