Prairie Boys

Just finished this commission of two boys. Both these boys live out on the Flint Hills of Kansas. I am not sure if this one works - so, as always, I would appreciate any feedback.

Wow! At first I thought I was looking at a photo. Interesting composition, it has a modern look to it. I've seldom seen such blue eyes.

My immediate reaction was they look like they are sat watching tv, with the blue cast to thier faces. I like that.

The thing that bothers me is the wall behind them. Whether it is just the jpeg i don't kknow but the wall is reading as the cieling sitting on top of thier heads.

It might be because of the shading on the wall and the flatness of the hair on the left hand boy.

WOW! What an interesting painting. It grabs my attention.

I'm not familiar with your style so forgive me please. It is different from what I try to do but it still shows off well.

The only comment I would offer is the older boys ear on his right side (our left). It glows and distracts me from the completely captivating expressions you have created.

Your portrait seems to beg us to seek what is going on.

I hope I haven't offended you with my observations because I really like this.
