Hongmin Zou Article

The latest issue of Southern Living has an article on Hongmin Zou, a member of A Stroke of Genius. I checked www.southernliving.com and couldn't find the article, but maybe it will appear sometime soon. His work is masterful; I have been to his site many times, and he allows you to greatly enlarge the images so you can really study his brushstrokes.

He came to Atlanta from Shang-hai 18 years ago and hit the ground running, having studied and painted in China for several years, plus being extremely talented. He had the choice of studying Chinese or Western art and chose the latter, partly because of his love of color. "'At that time modern art could not get into China because the doors were closed....Our professors only knew the traditional, classical art they had learned long before in Europe. So we became strong in the classical art. Because of this you see a lot of Chinese artists in America doing portraiture very well.'"

It's a nice article, but I would have liked it to be much longer!
