Pat,
I echo Allan : "She shines like a pearl" , I almost see the shell around...
It's a sweet and delicate drawing.

Thank you all for the stunning adjectives. It really has been exciting for me to open the forum and see your responses. A real confidence booster considering the move I am making for my art.

To answer Louise's question, it is on Canson paper about 16 x 12 and I am hoping they matt and frame it square as shown here. I used graphite beginning with H and going as dark at 8b. After establishing with the H pencil the drawings I begin to develop the shadow, constantly measuring this angle from that, this lenghth betwee points A and B (ie eye to nose, nose to center lip, to chin, to neck. Corner of eye to nostril, angle and length. There are a million ways to measure and I measure and measure and measure throughout the entire drawings. I never count directly on my eye.

All the while I am thinking of my subject, remembering how I felt about her, her relationship with her dad during the photo shoot, thinking feeling the love that was so obvious between them. it helps me in my attempt to do the most important of all, capture her spirit and personality.

I loved the process and cannot wait to do the next one of her whic will hopefully be accepted by a gallery who is interested in my graphite work and have aksed me for samples of children in particular. Ref photo attached.

Thank you again for your positive responses. You may never know how much it means to me.

Very sincerely
Patty

Wow, Patty! This is wonderful! You've caught that special sweetness, no doubt. And a beautifully done drawing.
