Both are just wonderful, but the way you've drawn the baby is simply unforgettable. I love it; I'll keep coming back to view that one. Such inspiring work!

Thank you Thomasin, Carlos and Christy.
The little boy is the young brother of this girl ( I did rework also the drawing of the girl, adding a cold red that the 2 portraits can match together) So I just kept things very classic.
For the baby, it was not a commission, and I wanted to explore something new ( well, maybe not the fur... Did you notice that I particularly like the white fur ? ) I experimented some new ways of lighting, and also I did play with color : with my usual set ( Charcoal-sanguine-cold red) I feel very comfortable, so I decided to change it for charcoal-cold red and white on grey background to only suggest warm colors...

Marina,
I think Christy's word "unforgettable" sums up these drawings for me. As you know I had the great pleasure of seeing these in person at your workshop, Thank you for bringing them! The striking thing about seeing the original work is the texture. Even though these drawings seem highly rendered, they are actually quite sketchy and textured, with a variety of strokes. You really know what you are doing, and the thought that went into these really shows.
As always, you have brought the subject matter to a symbolic, or iconic, level, while staying very direct about your portrayal of the children. The subtlety and clarity of your vision is what has such an intense effect on the viewer.

I can't tell you how much fun it is to see your new work! These are gorgeous.
(LOL I like white fur too, think of Julie Christie in Dr. Zhivago)
Beautiful in every regard.
PS The boy reminds me a great deal of the Wyeth Helga paintings.
