Stippling for critique

Nice job, good range of values and an interesting composition. BTW, I think the term "pointilism" is a particular method of oil painting with "dots" of color and doesn't describe your portrait here.
What is the size and media?

Nice technique. As a teenager, I took a very good class where we studied pen and ink. A lot of the students were into comic illustration. We used a crow quill pen and a bottle of India ink. It is nice to see stippling again. Many people don't seem to want to work with a pen.

Good foundation
I see this as another small miracle! These renderings show you understand composition and can hang onto your values, regardless of style. When are you going to paint?
