I ADORE this! What lovely fresh color and amazing control in the skin tones! Even though I've never met your son, I have a feeling you have absolutely caught his expression. I wish that, instead of the ubiquitous smile/grin, more artists would try to capture a look like this. I could sit here enjoying this painting for hours if I had nothing else to do.

Latin was one of my favorite subjects, too. I was hoping my kids would take Latin in school, but they both opted for French instead. I think they just couldn't believe Latin would be useful, but it is, every day.
