Nikon D70 and LOW light - how does it do?

I'm interested in taking photos in very low light situations, such as by candle or lamp light. I'm wondering how this camera performs under such conditions. If you've ever shot in a any low light situation with this camera I'd appreciate your input. How was the detail in the lights and darks, color quality etc.
Thanks.
