First Place

Congratulations Rebecca!

Rebecca Willoughby a member of this Forum has just won first place in the Hammond Art Guild Fall Show for her gorgeous painting of geese.

She also cornered an honorable mention for the sepia drawing of her daughter (seen elsewhere on this forum). Way to go Rebecca. She will also be teaching colored pencils at a local craft store and after winning first place, the enrollement has doubled. She plans to have prints made of the geese painting. Sounds like good marketing to me.

Thank you Alicia! I would like to thank everyone on this forum for their support. Although the painting was not a portrait, the information on this forum influenced composition, techniques, materials, and reference photos. Thanks to you all!

I will post the painting as soon as I get a copy back from the lab.

Thanks again!
Rebecca

Here is a picture of the geese painting as it appears in the gallery. Not the best image in the world, but it is the best I can do right now.

I didn't know geese could paint.

Lovely painting! I look forward to seeing a better photo of it on the forum when you get a chance.

Congratulations Rebecca! What a nice piece! You do water so well. (Sorry this is a bit late, hard to keep up with all these posts!)

What a great experience! And best of luck in future shows!

Please let me know how the colored pencil teaching goes, if you get the chance. (I've thought of doing something like that as well, so I'd be really interested to hear about your experience.) Thanks.
