Photoshop

My son has my copy of Photoshop for Dummies. Can anyone tell me an easy way to enlarge properly? I set the width at 400 pixels and the height is automatically adjusted. I can't seem to change it.

Thanks,
Alicia

I think you will find that you may pick either height or width. When you choose one it will calculate the other to maintain the original ratio.

You don't really want to make an image larger. To make it larger than what you have, the only recommended method is to rescan at a higher dpi. You'll lose too much quality.

Hi Alicia,

You can change the height and width separately when you go into "image size" from the menu and uncheck the "Constrain Proportions". This will unlink the height and width for you to adjust individually. Hope this makes sence.

Thanks everyone, so much to learn, so much to learn and so little time. The more I use it, I'm sure I'll learn all the little tricks.

Thanks,
Alicia
