20 mintues Gouache head sketches

I usually bring a little gouache set to an open drawing session I go to. I have to work fast, no time to second guess myself.

All our on 80pnd toned paper.

Joe,
I like the energy of the broad brush. I have never tried gouache but it seems to be ideal for sketching and it stays in it's place I guess.
By the way, are you left handed?

Alan,

Yes I am left handed.
Gouache is great for fast sketching as long as you don't get to washy /soupy with it. It tends to dry very fast. One thing to note is that the darks dry lighter and the lights dry darker.

Joe,

These are very good sketches. Nothing like this type of exercise to capture gesture and the essential topography of the face. And you have done it very well.

Let me also take advantage of this reply to welcome you to the forum. I like the pieces you showed in your introductory post. Very impressive.
