Perylene Black

As I a was working on the painting Blue Tribe, I looked for something to make the background richer looking and tried "Perylene Black" by Winsor Newton.

It has a Permanence A rating and what I found interesting was that this black had a deep green tint to it and almost had the qualities of Alizarin Crimson. I wouldn't use it to paint something black, since it is not opaque, but it was great for doing a glaze over an already established background, just to give it some more depth.
