This is a head study in oil I just worked on yesterday. It is part of the several studies I have made so far of this lady for a finished portrait commissioned by her husband. The session lasted about 2 hours and 45 minutes. Previously I had also made some sketches in charcoal. Again, excuse the quality of the photos. Critiques welcome.

Chris, Michelle:

Thanks for looking and for the encouraging comments. Chris, I've noticed you always mention the treatment of edges, (and you do well to remind us all about that aspect), so I am quite happy that I passed your edge standard. Hope I do well in the final piece, supposed to be a half body.
Thanks again.

Carlos,

What a great job in such a short time.

Which image is the correct color, the closeup or the full shot?

The actual colour comes closer to the second and third shots (somewhere in between)...have to get my photos right. Thanks for viewing and the comments.
