Buying a Nikon D70 ... online?

I am planning to by the Nikon D70. Hope this is a good choice. At my local camera store, it is $1,250 and comes with a $200 mail in rebate. So, after tax it will be around $1,100. Now I was looking around online and found this: http://www2.buydig.com/shop/basket.a...&sks=NKD701870,
Is this too good to be true? After the rebate, it will cost me about $900 as opposed to $1,100. What do you think? Have any of you ordered from Buydig.com before?
Thanks.

Zachary,

I like my D70 very much.

I have not done business with Buydig.com.

My feeling is that if my local retailer is anywhere close to the lowest price I will give them the nod. I like the idea of having local support. You could argue that $200 is not really close and I would agree.

I would continue to do my homework. I have heard more than one sad story regarding purchases over the Internet. Is it clear to you that it is also the camera that is getting the US warranty, and not just the lens?

Are you getting all that the factory kit comes with? A battery charger? A camera strap? Software? Make sure you are comparing apples and apples. This is one way they try and confuse the issue. You have to parse the words pretty carefully.

Good luck.

You might try B + h Photography at www.bhphotovideo.com. They are a reputable company and have several options for you to consider.

I agree with Mike. There are a lot of traps out there so be careful.

I am very happy with my D70. I bought mine along with 2 NIkkor lenses.
