Pencil Portrait
This an itinerant Cranberry Picker, done with an HB and a 2B. The sketch, was made during mug ups, over the course of the day and finished at home.
I think his name was Bill. I ended up giving it to my son, as a birthday present.

Charlie,
I agree with Karin, it's beautiful! Sorry it took me so long to find this one.

Charlie,
I am new to the Forum and have found your pencil work to be exceptional. If you don't mind my asking, how did you get the deep darks? I am a graphite portraitist myself and have found that even on my best days, I don't have the patience to put down layer after layer of darks.
Yours sincerely,
Frank

Actually, I also wondered about those delicious deep rich blacks that you are able to get.
Also, how do you deal with the "shine" that you can get with graphite? And what paper did you use?
Again, this is really nice and I'd love to see more of your work.
