Hi Lon,
I don't know that I've ever talked to you on the forum, but welcome back. It doesn't seem that you've been around for awhile. I love your sketches, they exude personality and character. For what it's worth, they give me the impression they were done outside, particularly the first and last one. Do you have a light that you move around for each person, sometimes above their heads and sometimes to the sides?
Regards,
Holly

Lon,
I like your sketches Lon. I would be proud to sit at your table, even if it is at the food court. I respect a man who can make a living.
I know that your book can be had on-line, but, can you remind me where your book can be had in a real brick and mortar store.

Nice to hear from a fellow denizen of the Northwest again. Long time no post!
Since your wage works out to be between $60 and $120 an hour I'd say you're making a darn fine living for a self employed artist -- or any other field either, for that matter. No dignity need be compromised. Besides, some of the Impressionists literally did without food some days so they could buy paint. Modern-day starving artists are in good company.

Welcome Back
Welcome back, Lon. I've missed your posts. As a semi-sketch junkie, I can relate to your posts just fine.

Lon, it's great to see you back here. You are doing what is the very essence of portraiture: looking into someone's eyes and capturing them in your own way as an artist. This is the very core of what it means to be an artist and I salute you.
Besides, as you know, I'm a closet cartoonist and I never read your posts without having an overwhelming urge to get out there and do this, too.
