Chasing Rabbit Trails

Wow Steven.....you really know how to strike some mean chords man.

The thing that always came up for me in any of my days walking the "path toward greatness" as a younger man....was chasing down those rabbit trails. Problem is.....it's a lovely journey full of the knowledge that the main thing was to get to the end from the beginning.....that's the goal, right? Go without looking too much. Just look....and keep going.

However, there I'd go bip-bopping along doing more looking and trying than accomplishing. Look at that....watch what I might do with this. Or what if I was as good at that other thing over here. Yeah.....that, too....and that....and that.....

However, in my days now I'm walking toward the prize as one who is actually tapping into those quasi-accomplishments..... and taking sips from the experience to nourish the hunger and thirst for "gettin good."

I got a ways to go.....so far.....so good.

You are very eloquent Steven - what things you make us think on!

I paint because I have to, I love to and I cannot imagine doing anything else. It is what I have always wanted to do since I was a small child. It is what I want to do every single day of my life. There are no bad "issues" for me associated with painting - even the fact that I do not make as much money as I want because I am positive I will someday! I am ambitious, not for fortune/fame or recognition, but just to insure that I can keep painting and buying supplies.
I never feel guilty if I miss a day - after all the kids are only young once and they are certainly more important than anything, but I NEED to get back to it as soon as possible. There is no difficult part - it's all joy.

Arte es Vida!
