I am not very proficient at watercolor portraiture. Just been doing a few lately. Is there any protocol or stylistic conventions with the medium I should know?

oops Hi Linda,
It is OUR Simon... I thought I might flush him out of the woodwork with this, but he is still laying low! I am not very sure of myself with watercolor, they just seem to go on their own. I have a sense of holding my breath the whole time!
