Pete
Below is a portrait I did at a show of a fellow artist. He is a scrimshaw artist and his booth was next to where I was set up.
The show lasted for 3 days but he could only sit for a couple of hours at most in a day, and these were often interrupted by shoppers, onlookers and prospects, not to mention friends.
I would say I spent 5-6 hours on this piece.

Hi John,
Nice job! You've really accomplished painting a solid, strong, and sculptural form.
This is a great idea, especially since there is usually quite a bit of down time at shows, and you'll have a nieghbor in residence, at least for a few days!

Hi John, Great work for such a short time! I agree with Chris, it really feels solid and sculptural.

Thanks Chris and Michael,
I forgot to mention the size, 16" x 20", on stretched canvas.
