Madeline

This is was an experiment more or less. I had some leftovers of watercolor paints. I mixed them up and applied on the paper. Later same day my model came over. I used pencil and white pastel to draw her portrait. I love her Victorian look. I'm hoping I was able to convey this in the drawing.
Please let me know what you think
Thank you,
Olena

Very nice drawing.

I liked the way you captured her smile.

Beautiful!

I hope you will continue to explore this technique and perhaps photograph the steps to share with us!

Thank you for all your comments.
Thank you Chris for your feedback, I always appreciate your opinion.
It was just one of those happy accidents. I'm planning to use this model for something a little bit perhaps too ambitious - "Victorian Nude". She just has the look. And the technique that I tried just helps to develop the feeling. I'm definitely planning on doing more sketches like this one, but of the full figure and hopefully I will be able to find a way how to paint it in oil and have the same mood.

This is a wonderful drawing. The soul is right there.

Thank you for all the good words,
And yes I was in rhythmic gymnastics for 7 years sometimes ago.

P.S. sorry for my ignorance, but what is RI?

Very very nice! I agree with Tom about "soul" - the personality shines through.

Olena,

Sorry I didn't comment on this before. I think I was getting ready to go on vacation and things were a little rushed. Anyway, it is a lovely drawing. Sometimes the best things happen unexpectedly. You really captured that spark of life.
