Hello from Italy

Hello!
I've recently been accepted in this forum and today I 've finally gathered the courage to introduce myself:
my name is Alessandra, I'm from Italy, (please, forgive my bad english) and I'm trying to pursue a career in portraiture and figurative paintings.
I'm aware that I have a long way to go, lots of things to learn and to improve,but... that's the reason why I'm here! I've already learned so much, just by reading through the threads, and I hope to continue to learn, with the help of all of you.
My medium of choice has been until now pastels, and I' ve recently started painting with acrylics and I look forward to start with oils, as well...

Welcome, Alessandra! I see we share the same name. Though I am not Italian, I was born in Italy and people called me Alessandra when I was much too young to remember. I checked out your blog and really enjoyed looking at your work. Hope you post some of it (including details) on the forum so we can take a closer look.

Alexandra, it's the same for me whenever I go outside Italy.. they always call me Alexandra instead of Alessandra; thank you for your welcoming words and I'm so glad you enjoyed my little blog.
Well, I'm planning to post some work for critique, but for this I'll need to gather some more courage!
