Austin, unveiling

well, as I told the mom, she wins the award for most emotional unveiling yet!! She cried!! She was Oh My God - ing her self to death!! She only could say over and over and over its PERFECT.....it's AUSTIN....it's like he's just coming right off the paper!! She said I knew it would be great, I had no doubt, but I wasn't prepared for THIS!!

It even gave ME chills..watching her!!.and I'm not usually one that responds to them like that. She just kept hugging me! She's already called me to tell me how wowed her son was, and how her husband kept saying that it was REALLY REALLY GOOD.

Yes, that has got to be the best response yet!

Wow Monique - what a great feeling! Don't you love how you have totally made their day? You know this is one very treasured portrait!

I do think you have captured their young man. I like how you cropped the face to give an intimate feeling to the portrait. The eyes may even be more expressive than the original photo.

Thanks! I received a few more calls from her last night, letting me know the comments from the grandmothers...one of which is a tough critic of art, supposedly, and she just kept asking..."now WHO is this? who did this? this is wonderful!!"....I said "just little unknown me! lol"

Anyhow, you commented about the eyes, and here are some closeups of them. I really loved doing them. A lot of colors, interesting eye color.

Thanks again for your kind comments. She is headed today to get it framed. They always look SO much better when they are framed! I can't wait to see it.
