A new painting in drybrush.

I know that the drawing is bad, but what do you think of the new drybrush technique?

I don't think the drawing is bad, if you mean the proportions and modeling of form. On the contrary, I think it is improving every time you post. By drybrush, do you mean you are mixing oils without medium? I am assuming you are working in oil because it looks like oil.

Judson, I have a suggestion: I think you are doing so well on these self-portraits that it is time you took a leap and painted someone else from life. There must be someone you know who would be thrilled to have a portrait of themselves in return for X hours of sitting. Your painting will progress much faster if you challenge yourself in this way.

Bravo! I've been watching your work and this is definately your best so far. Great drawing and warm/cool tones in the skin. Keep at it!

I also think it's not bad drawing, it's just different from realism. It's more impressionistic. Your paintings have the strong character. If you try to add more of background and some conceptual idea into the painting, you will be praised by the art schools as Alex Tying said at my Topic, "An artist and his puppet".

I like your skin tone and brave strokes. I think the right upper side of your lips is too bright. Usually person's nose and forehead are highest part to be most bright, but I think the right side between nose and lips is most bright part in this painting. Never mind if it's been on purpose.
