Homage to August
This is a portrait of a very dear friend and teacher. He introduced me to pastels about 14 years ago. It is at his studio that our group gathers to share the costs of a model. The model did not show so August agreed to sit for us. Again, I had so much fun because he is such a wonderful character. He is well into his eighties and has spent most of his life as a professional artist. There will be a story about him soon in International Artist magazine. His health has been failing but he is one of the quickest wits I know. I worked on the Strathmore paper and found that there is a wrong side and a right side. This was drawn on the wrong side (oops!). Any and all critiques are welcome.
