Hi Judson,

The first thing that jumps out is the brightness of the eyes. Try to put them more in shadow, especially under the eyelids. Also, try deepening or cooling the corners of the eyes; this will give them more "roundness".

Keep painting from life. I'm sure you notice the improvement you've made over your previous photo referenced portraits.
