Latest commission

Hi everyone;

I introduced myself last fall and this is the first finished piece since then.
It was delivered last night to a very happy family here in Calgary.
Some portrait art from western Canada...

I really enjoy the forum - Thank you!

Janine,

Great job, I can understand why they were really happy. Were you able to take more closeups before it was delivered?

Hi Jimmie;

No, I don't have any better details-but I thought of you quite a bit at the beginning stages of this work because there is a really involved graphite drawing underneath the paint- I love your drawings so much and frequently when I saw your newest works go up I would think, gee-I would like to leave this as a graphite....
Graphite has a strong personality about it that expresses a completely different energy than paint. I don't know if it is appropriate in this thread but here are shots of that initial drawing.
(the piece is 32.5"x39")

Congratulations, Janine!

I am so glad you posted this in the Unveilings section. This is indeed a good place to share some of the steps that you took in creating a finished painting.

Nice to see you here,
