Welcome Eva,
You have a strong sense of light and shadow and your drawing is very good. You are going to grow rapidly, for sure. Just keep working! These are nice pieces. I especially like the first one, a very solid painting.

Eva, welcome!

It is so nice to have you here, and you bring along with you an incredible level of talent and accomplishment for a person of your age! The black and white painted portrait has such wonderful control, and is a very strong and interesting portrait too, as is your bearded man, a very intense and accomplished drawing!

I look forward to your participation and posts. I expect many can be inspired, so please share some more portraits with us, as you can.

All the best,

Garth

Welcome to the forum, Eva.

I agree with the others that you are very talented, and you are also lucky to have started at a young age.

I look forward to see some more of your works.

Welcome, Eva. I'm so impressed that you are to this level of accomplishment at a young age. I especially like your black and white painting of the woman.

Extraordinary work, Eva. I lived in Taipei for about three years, and by accident discovered (because I could see it from the light-rail and motorscooter on my way down into the city) the Taipei Fine Arts Museum, where I learned that it was not true that portraiture and oil paints were rare in Asian art. One of my all-time favorite pieces hangs in that Museum (of a fisherman, on his boat, on a bright sunny day at harbor.) I happily returned to the Museum many times, as I also took classes in more traditional Chinese watercolor methods. Somehow, my instructor was never quite satisfied with my bamboo stalks and leaves or my plum blossoms, but I had lots of fun trying.
