Detail of "Alfred Wertheimer" by Sargent

This is a copy I did at home from a reproduction of John Singer Sargent's "Portrait of Alfred Wertheimer". It is oil on canvas and the size is 12" x 9". I saw the painting a couple years ago at The Jewish Museum when Sargent's Wertheimer Family portraits were on display and I was very taken with this portrait in particular.

Sargent's full portrait is a 3/4 but the reproduction I had was only of the head and I felt it was fairly true to the original. My intention in copying Sargent has been to examine his edges and the way he laid down the paint, while a reproduction often changes color and value, I felt like I could study that from a decent reproduction.
