I like the one you just posted better then the realism. It is more sponteneous. You know, the art is more in the limitations than the freedoms and excesses.

I use 4b. Only 4b. Hair? 4b. Shading? 4b. Eyes? 4b. 4b or not 4b. 4b.

I use a sandpaper block to sand the lead to a chisel. It gives me more flexibility with the line. The 4b is hard enough so that it does not break under pressure, but soft enough to really perform.

You will progress so much faster if you force a time limit. It will cramp your style - that's what style is.
