Hello,

Thank you, Erika! Since I knew Steven never sleeps and would respond first, I spared the reference photo. But it's done from it. I used the software S-Spline to extend about 100x100 pixel (from 60x60) and printed out with Photoshop at the same size as the painting.

About lenses: at my first attempt (Bouguereau,http://forum.portraitartist.com/show...1871#post21871) I discovered that a magnifying glass with (lenses) did not help but rather hindered (at least me). Somehow, I cannot coordinate well my hand and brush (or, rather, hairs ) if I see it in a size "other" than normal. But the more important point for me, I didn't see it as a whole picture, so I wasn't getting the needed "atmosphere" of it. But perhaps it helps you.

I didn't find much literature or people who make miniatures, then I remembered at SOG, Celeste McCall paints minis on porcelain. This week I will (must) paint my wife, then must work on a few other pictures.

I'm excited for your works! Best wishes,
Leslie.

P.S.: Pictures go as a "miniature" if not greater as 4.5" x 5.2". Second rule for portraits: the whole head should be no more then 2".
