Hello all,
I believe passionately that all education in art starts with the human form. I return to this subject every time I want to learn some new. I hope you enjoy my efforts.

Hi Clayton,

These are great! I especially like painting #2 - the composition plus the model is so well painted, as are they all.

I also like the juxtaposition of abstraction with realism.

Thanks for sharing these.

Clayton,
It's really inspiring to vitness the many different approaches that you show examples of.

I can not tell which I prefer, I like the diversity of your works. But I think that the last one has a nerve and refinement in the drawing and I'd wish it was my work.

Clayton,

You do such beautiful work! Thanks for posting it. I love the richness of the textures and colors. The last one is my overall favorite, too because there is a certain tension in her body that makes an unusual pose.

Beautiful works, Clayton.....
Your paintings always make me feel like reaching out and feeling the different textures you convey so well, and in so abbreviated a manner.

Amazing work!

The first one is my favorite, probably because of the value contrast between the figure and the rug and background.

Hey everyone thanks so much for the replies. I hope the joy in doing them shows through too. I so love to paint the human form in any capacity. I've been busy the last few days. This is this mornings effort. I hope you like.

Clayton--

All of these are your usual fabulous work.

What's inspiring to me this morning is that--after struggling with a painting in a life session yesterday--I've re-learned from these that "richness" isn't equivalent to packing in unnecessary detail.

Thanks for posting a great series of lessons.

Thanks Tom, I always tell people I think I'm a better editor than director.

Sorry about the lack of details. The last piece is ...

"DaLawn"
16" x 12"
oil on linen

... done at the Palette and Chisel in Chicago under north light from about 9 am to 1:30 pm. Had a ball with the color and textures. Most of the credit must go to my subject. I mean ......................... COME ON!
