This is a commission I just finished. The bride in question is giving the portrait to her husband for their 15th wedding anniversary. The painting itself presented a lot of new challenges, but was a lot of fun to do.

The nicest thing about this - and it is becoming masterful in it's own right - are details of the flowers she is holding, and the embroidery around the neck of the dress. The portrait is a good one, but the flowers have something particular to you, and are showing a very interesting personal style developing. It is like a still-life with a figure as the secondary subject. Very interesting work, Enzie.

Dear Thomasin,

Thank you for your lovely remark. It has been a very long time since I last painted flowers and to start with a full on bouquet was rather challenging. I feel a bit disappointed that the flowers turned out more dominant then I wanted them to be. Working on a tight schedule did not leave me much time to tame the beast that got away! LOL
