Beautifully done, margaret.
it makes me think to the solidity of an Holbein's drawing.

Margaret,

This looks very nice. You accomplished so much in such a little time and this gives me hope as I struggle through my open studio sessions.

Margaret, portraiture can be such fun. The fun for me is when I recognize and capture the special characteristics of a person. In this portrait you have done just that. Well done!

Margaret,

I love his eyes and entire facial expression. It is revealing and fascinating. Thanks for posting this.

Many thanks for your encouraging comments.
I usually find that rapid portraits are my most spontaneous and probably successful
Looking to stop overworking and loosen up!

This is gorgeous, Margaret. Do you consider this "loose", "tight" or in between?

Margaret Ferguson 05-12-2007 03:45 AM

Hi Julie, for me this is quite tight! I'm usually after a more flowing painterly effect with pastels.
I'm glad I left it relatively unfinished though

Margaret,

This is so beautiful, accomplished, and penetrating! I love the limited palette and blue paper.

Garth
