Hi, mixture of pastels and pastel pencil for this quick portrait
|
Beautifully done, margaret.
it makes me think to the solidity of an Holbein's drawing. |
Margaret,
This looks very nice. You accomplished so much in such a little time and this gives me hope as I struggle through my open studio sessions. |
Margaret, portraiture can be such fun. The fun for me is when I recognize and capture the special characteristics of a person. In this portrait you have done just that. Well done!
|
Margaret,
I love his eyes and entire facial expression. It is revealing and fascinating. Thanks for posting this. |
Margaret, how lovely, beautifully done, so much soul. Very nice.

Thanks for your comments
Many thanks for your encouraging comments.
I usually find that rapid portraits are my most spontaneous and probably successful Looking to stop overworking and loosen up! |
This is gorgeous, Margaret. Do you consider this "loose", "tight" or in between?
|
Hi Julie, for me this is quite tight! I'm usually after a more flowing painterly effect with pastels.
I'm glad I left it relatively unfinished though |
Margaret,
This is so beautiful, accomplished, and penetrating! I love the limited palette and blue paper. Garth |
